The day you give birth will be hectic. Everything from having a pre-packed bag to knowing who will look after your other children, it takes serious organisation! We will work through a plan that accounts for every eventuality to ensure you’re absolutely ready to have the best birth experience. Little things like having a phone charger on the day, money for parking are things that often overlooked can be additional stress on the day!

preferences

Like anything in life, birth comes with decisions and making the right ones and planning to make the right ones can be an arduous task. Together we will work through a birth plan that accounts for every eventuality. As a qualified nurse/midwife I can navigate the healthcare system to get the best for you and your baby. We’ll talk through your preferences for pain relief, location of birth and ambience. Everything you need.

positions

In the run up to the actual day your baby may be doing some serious summersaults! It’s important to understand what position baby is in and what the optimal positions are. Also throughout labour the position baby is in directly relates to how comfortable the birth experience will be for you. If you’re babies back to is aligned with your back, as an example, getting on hands and knees can help.

The most important part of my work is to really listen to you fears, concerns, and preferences for your birth. Sometimes just talking things through can be like a weight lifting and you can think more clearly about what it is that you want. We’ve been doing this for thousands of years, but it can still feel like a monumental, scary, and an impossible thing. I want to build your confidence and let you know that you, and your body can do this.
